I am continuing to work with this wonderful school developing creative, inquiry based learning. Looking forward to running the INSET session and planning with staff to develop opportunities for collaborative work within the classroom. Fab to see how this school take an idea and really make it their own!

Banardos/Pure and Applied Creative Training/Social Enterprise Research and Innovation Fund/Criminal Justice System/The Women’s Organisation

Directing week long intensive program for Year Ten pupils creating an abridged version of Shakespeareʼs A Midsummer Nights Dream.

Voluntary work in India training teachers on questioning techniques and teaching children.

Marking written exam papers on set twentieth century texts. Moderating live A Level performances to national standards.

North Liverpool Academy: Creating a film using forum theatre techniques exploring issues that affect young people.

Arch Bishop Beck Secondary: Supporting teachers to deliver PELTS in a creative way. Delivering

empowerment and anti bullying workshops to selected pupils and training staff on cross curricular creative planning.

Matthew Moss Secondary School: Training and supporting three young actors to train and demonstrate to teachers on how to use drama to deliver the curriculum. Delivering drama based schemes of work in subject areas such as Science and RE.

Bigfoot Arts: Writer and Assessor 2008-2012

Writing schemes of work using drama for learning, writing secondary school’s Brecht for Devising workshop and resource pack, writing Oldham E Safety TiE performance and workshop and directing Oldham E Safety project. Assessing practitioners and ensuring their work meets the set standards, writing reports and supporting practitioners development. 

 Bury College: Lecturer in Drama and Theatre Studies/Performing Arts 2008-2010

Teaching theory and practical elements of courses and directing performances.

Thomas Rotherham College:Lecturer in Performing Arts 2005-2008

Teaching and developing Performing Arts provision and directing college Shakespeare Production. Mentoring selected students and being a Personal tutor to selected students.

Delivering bespoke drama for learning projects across six primary schools and one secondary school. supporting teachers to develop their facilitation skills, writing productions, directing the cross school productions, introducing GCSE Drama to the secondary school and training staff in drama techniques.

Rotherham College of Arts and Technology: Program Co Ordinator in Production Skills 2000-2004

Running Level One and Level Two Production Skills, managing other lecturers, teaching students, developing school link programs and developing the community arts provision in the local community.

Producing and directing community performances for and with women aiming to raise awareness of domestic violence and create support networks within the local community.

Norfolk Park Young People’s Council: Performing Arts Worker 1998-2000

Devising and developing provision for young people. using drama to develop young people’s confidence in public speaking and decision making skills in order to run and manage a young people’s council.

Freelance Drama Practitioner 1997-2002

Working in youth/community groups, museums and institutions offering a wide range of drama and arts based workshops to given remits. Examples including working with Clifton Park Museum to create drama workshops based on the history of the museum and with the Crucible Youth Theatre as a Joker for their Forum Theater performance Not Exactly an Angel.
